About School Safety Plainly

School safety plans are full of jargon and procedures that families rarely see. This site explains them in plain English: what happens in a lockdown or fire drill, why schools have the rules they do, and what families can do at home.

Most of the official guidance we link to applies to England. Schools in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland follow their own national guidance, which often covers similar ground, so always check with your own school.

IndependentSchool Safety Plainly isn't affiliated with any school, academy trust, local authority or government department. Posts are general information, not a substitute for your school's own emergency plan or official guidance.
